Ikon Arts Management is delighted to represent selected projects for Grammy award-winning saxophonist and composer Tim Garland.
Grammy award-winning Tim Garland is established as a saxophone virtuoso in jazz circles worldwide. Garland studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where he first met Jason Rebello, and his early career included playing alongside Ronnie Scott around northern Europe and in his famous club, and with Sir John Dankworth. Having then spent many globetrotting years in piano legend Chick Corea’s touring band, Garland has since received numerous five-star reviews and awards (including Radio 3’s Innovation Award) for his solo releases and compositions.
Combining his love of contemporary music with jazz idioms, Garland has worked in many musical spheres, with the likes of London Symphony Orchestra, City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra and the Northern Sinfonia, as well as frequent small ensemble work, including his Lighthouse Trio with Gwilym Simcock and Asaf Sirkis.
Garland is a Research Fellow at the RNCM and workshop leader at the Royal Academy of Music.

Sure footed virtuosity… a dazzling standard.The Times
Garland produced a magical performance in the perfect acoustic environment of the Wigmore Hall... He treated [the audience] to one of the most sublime renditions of 'Crystal Silence' ever performed... But most striking of all was Garland's ability as bandleader to know just how far to push a tune, bend a note, challenge his audience, producing what must surely have been a highpoint of his stellar career.Jazzwise Magazine
Garland’s tone – soft and beautiful anyway – seemed to adopt some of the shimmering silkiness of Getz... a treat.Classical Source
