On Wednesday 16th November, saxophonist and composer Tim Garland will join the Sacconi Quartet to perform a number of world premieres at London’s Wigmore Hall, as part of the 2016 EFG London Jazz Festival.
In this unique concert Tim will celebrate jazz greats Stan Getz and Chick Corea, with his own arrangements of classic Chick Corea pieces such as Crystal Silence.
“His level of genius is rare.” Chick Corea
In the second half of the concert the audience will be treated to a reinvented version of Stan Getz’s 1961 underground hit Focus through Tim’s own suite ‘Re:Focus’. For this new version, Tim and the Sacconi Quartet will be joined by a stellar line up of collaborators: violinist Thomas Gould, double bassist Yuri Goloubev and with Asaf Sirkis on drums.
This concert is part of Tim Garland’s 50th Birthday tour, with further birthday gigs lined up at St George’s Bristol, and The Sage Gateshead Newcastle.
