The Winchester Chamber Music Festival begins today, curated by Artistic Directors Daniel Tong and Kate Gould of the London Bridge Trio.
Running from 30 April – 3 May, the festival will bring together a number of guest musicians for a series of concerts, talks, and other intriguing events including an open rehearsal and a masterclass.
Held at Winchester’s Theatre Royal and St Lawrence Church, the festival is now in its eighth year and has a jam-packed schedule with two or three events and concerts each day.
Guest musicians include baritone Ivan Ludlow, violinist Matthew Truscott, clarinettist Robert Plane, and the Lawson Trio, amongst others, performing an exciting programme of works which include Schubert’s sublime song cycle, ‘Die Schöne Müllerin’, quintets by Dvořák and Mozart, a schools concert, as well as a special gala concert on the Friday evening.
