Peter Donohoe takes to the Barbican stage this week to perform alongside one of his oldest musical friends, Sir Simon Rattle, in two concerts marking the end of Rattle’s tenure as Music Director of the London Symphony Orchestra. Donohoe – and ondes-martenot player Cynthia Millar – join the LSO for a performance of Messiaen’s mind-boggling Turangalîla-Symphonie.
The concerts, which take place at the Barbican Centre on Wedesday 14 and Thursday 15 June 2023, are being recorded for future broadcast on radio and filmed for future broadcast on Marquee TV and Mezzo.
