Stile Antico have released their twelfth recording on the Harmonia Mundi label. The disc features the full cycle of Tomas Luis de Victoria’s incredible ‘Tenebrae Responsories’, interspersed with liturgical plainchant.

The disc was recorded last February, and follows their GRAMMY-award nominated recording of motets by Giaches de Wert. It has already garnered praise from Classical Music Sentinel, who comment that the disc ‘attains perfection’, and received a lovely mention in The Guardian.

You can hear the full programme at St. Peter’s Church, Eaton Square on the 19th April, where the album will be officially launched. For more details, please click here.

The ‘Tenebrae Responsories’ holds a special place in the group’s heart, as it was the first piece they sang as an ensemble.
