Ott negotiates all the considerable technical hurdles of the Weinberg with aplomb and receives committed support from the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra under Dirk Kaftan.

Ott’s trumpet sound has a consistent, pleasing tonal quality throughout its range.[Desenclos] The range of expression is very wide, and there is some lovely and tender slow music in the middle movement. Ott’s performance is perfectly sympathetic.
