Biography —

Awarded the Opus Klassik Award 2021 for her debut album ‘Trumpet Concertos’ with the ORF Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien and first female 1st Prize winner for trumpet at the ARD International Competition, Selina Ott has performed solo concerti with the Wiener Symphoniker, Budapest Festival Orchestra, Czech Philharmonic, Deutches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, Tonkünstler Orchestra, and Yomiuri Nippon Symphony Orchestra.

Since winning the ARD competition at the age of 20, Selina has performed in esteemed concert halls such as the Wiener Konzerthaus, Musikverein Vienna, Philharmonie Berlin, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Kölner Philharmonie, Philharmonie Essen, Philharmonie Luxembourg, Wolkenturm Grafenegg, Rudolfinum Prague, Salle Philharmonique de Liège, Die Glocke Bremen, Aram Khachaturian Concert Hall Yerevan, and Tokyo Metropolitan Theatre.

As a recording artist, Selina has released three albums including “Trumpet Concertos” with the ORF Radio-Symphonieorchester Wien and a solo recital disc with pianist En-Chia Lin on the Orfeo label. Her latest 2022 disc with the RSO Wien features duo concerto works with pianist Maria Radutu which has received critical acclaim for performances of concerti by Shostakovich, Weinberg, and Jolivet.

As a champion of new works, Selina has given the Austrian premiere of Wynton Marsalis’ Trumpet Concerto at the Wiener Konzerthaus with RSO Wien and Marin Alsop, and further premieres of Konstantia Gourzi’s Ypsilon, A Poem for Trumpet and Orchestra in Five Scenes and Thomas Wally’s Utopia I, Strange Loops for Trumpet and Orchestra at the Wolkenturm Grafenegg.

Highlights of the 24/25 season onwards features performances at the Elbphilharmonie Hamburg with the Hamburg State Orchestra under Marie Jacquot, the Großes Festspielhaus Salzburg with the Mozarteum Orchestra Salzburg under Patrick Hahn, and further concerts with Antwerp Symphony Orchestra, Bremen Philharmonic, Banater Philharmonie, Bochum Symphony Orchestra, and Brucknerhaus Linz.
