Janina Fialkowska returned to the UK last month, almost one year to the date from her last UK tour, with two concerts in London.

The first, on 25 October, was a brilliant solo recital at St Peter’s, Eaton Square, as part of the Autumn Series of Eaton Square concerts. Christopher Axworthy sums it up quite succinctly: “Listening to the magical sounds that she conjured up from a Fazioli piano we could fully understand why Rubinstein had been in tears with her moving performances at the very first Rubinstein Competition.” Read the full review.

Next, it was off to Barbican Hall on 02 November, for a performance of the Paderewski Piano concerto, alongside the BBC Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Michal Nesterowicz.  Janina played with and with ‘evident relish and affection,’ according to Arts Desk , and ‘virtuosity’ as said by  The Times.

If you missed this incredible performance, don’t worry, Janina will rejoin the BBC SO on 6 January for a second performance of the Paderewski in Poland, and it’s still available to listen to on BBC Radio 3 iPlayer until 02 December.

Janina Fialkowska will return to London early next year for a performance at Kings Place  on 11 January 2019 as part of their Master Series.
