Michael Collins’s new disc of Vaughan Williams and Finzi with the Philharmonia Orchestra was released earlier this year and has garnered multiple 5* reviews.

The disc sees Michael’s recording debut as a conductor of symphonic repertoire, with Vaughan Williams’s Fifth Symphony alongside Gerald Finzi’s Clarinet Concerto.

“…he shapes Finzi’s winding melodies as affectionately as ever…..Collins has a natural feel for the work’s structure and drawsglowing playing from the Philharmonia.”
Mark Pullinger, Gramophone

“This rather unusual coupling owes its existence to a world-class clarinettist who over the past ten years has also been building a career as a conductor.” 5 stars
Daniel Jaffé, BBC Music Magazine

Michael also gave an interview with Presto Classical (see here) and was a guest on BBC Radio 3’s In Tune.
