Stile Antico have received a fantastic 5-star review for their performance of new, Dante-inspired programme ‘A Divine Hope’ at London’s Wigmore Hall last week. Reviewing for musicOMH, Barry Creasy writes
Stile Antico have always been first-class interpreters of Renaissance vocal polyphonic repertoire, but, over the years, their initially remarkably high standard of production has become even more honed, such that they are (in this reviewer’s view, anyway) simply the best ensemble around to listen to for music of this genre.
Their next performances of ‘A Divine Hope’ will be on 4-concert tour in the USA in April. In the meantime, they are heading to Heidelberg, Germany for a 4-concert tour in Europe, performing their Passiontide programme ‘The Path to Salvation’ and Elizabethan programme ‘In a Strange Land’.
