This is the final release in their ‘Golden Renaissance’ trilogy which commemorates 500 years since the birth of the quintessential composer of the Italian Renaissance, Giovanni Pierluigi da Palestrina. The album is based around Palestrina’s famous Missa Papae Marcelli, the mass setting which is reputed to have saved church music from being banned by the Catholic Church. It also honours Palestrina’s connections with the Papal Chapel at St Peter’s Rome and the church Santa Maria Maggiore.
You can listen to it on all the usual streaming platforms, and can purchase it through the Stile Antico website: https://www.stileantico.co.uk/recordings/palestrina
