Trio Zadig have released a new album called the Mendelssohn Legacy on Naïve classics. The first instalment in an exploration of the German Romantic trio repertoire, this double album by Trio Zadig (Miclen LaiPang, Marc Girard Garcia, and Guillaume Vincent) offers an absolutely exhilarating journey between light and shadow. At its centre are the marvellous Trios for violin, cello, and piano by Fanny and Felix Mendelssohn, complemented by a few rare transcriptions.
