Seasoned duo partners Guy Johnston and Melvyn Tan return to Wigmore Hall on Tuesday 12th May with a radiant lunchtime programme complete with a new score by Matthew Kaner, hailed by BBC Music Magazine for his ‘far-reaching imaginative world’. They frame the London-based composer’s work with two great 20th-century cello sonatas, opening with the multi-layered piece Britten wrote for Mstislav Rostropovich and closing with Samuel Barber’s remarkable early Sonata in C minor.
