The Newbury Spring Festival starts this Saturday, 9th May. Performing at this year’s festival are three of Ikon Arts Management’s artists:

Tamsin Waley-Cohen joins forces with soprano Ruby Hughes and pianist Huw Watkins to perform a programme that centres around the theme of ‘Homecoming’, culminating in Schubert’s ‘Shepherd on the Rock’ and Vaughan Williams’ ‘The Lark Ascending’.

Septura returns to the Festival to perform their ‘American in Paris’ programme. A celebration of the vibrant music that arises from the crossing of boundaries of genre and culture, Septura explore a great transatlantic relationship, from Debussy’s Préludes, through Ravel’s Mother Goose, to his friend Gershwin’s iconic An American in Paris.

23rd May, 7.30pm
Elizabeth Watts sings in Strauss’ Four Last Songs with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra and Tom Fetherstonhaugh in the Festival finale. Also on the programme is Britten’s ‘Four Sea Interludes’ and Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6, ‘Pathétique’
