The latest issue of Gramophone Magazine includes a feature interview with Graham Ross about the Choir of Clare College, Cambridge new album ‘Reaching Farther’, recently released on Signum Records:
“While the album is marking 700 years of Clare’s history, its contemporary slant means that it’s also very much looking to the future. ‘We look at all the things that we’ve learnt. We build upon them, and see what other things we can discover,’”
” ‘Clare is a place where I’ve been inspired, a place where I’ve felt humbled, and where I have the extraordinary privilege of nurturing, guiding and – I hope – inspiring the next generation of musicians,’ he replies. ‘That for me is the greatest gift that this album can give: if one person in a congregation or a concert, or one person listening to this album, can sense any of those sentiments in the music-making that we produce, then I feel that we’re doing the right thing.’ ”
