Vocal ensemble Ex Cathedra has been shortlisted for The Guardian Charity Awards 2013 for their excellent education and training initiatives, community projects and participation programmes. Over the past year, these have included ‘Singing Playgrounds’ which reached over 100,000 children in Birmingham, the UK and internationally; and ‘Singing Medicine’, that brings smiles and laughter to children with life-limiting conditions, and their families. Ex Cathedra aims to enrich peoples’ lives by placing singing at the heart of communities, enabling individuals to discover themselves as singers and to experience the many benefits singing can bring.
The winners will be announced at an event on Tuesday 3rd December 2013.
