Conductor Dominic Peckham has joined forces with Aldeburgh Music for the organisation’s exciting project celebrating not only Benjamin Britten’s music, but also the work of living composers from across the globe.
Aldeburgh Music have specially commissioned 10 composers, including Nico Muhly, Rachel Portman and The Unthanks to write pieces that can be performed by any group of singers, no matter what ability or age range. These pieces will be performed by the Jubilee Opera Chorus, conducted by Dominic Peckham on the 16th June, live at the Jubilee in Aldeburgh. After this premiere performance, Peckham will also conduct the ensemble in a number of other performances of the works.
The Friday Afternoons project will culminate in a very special event on the 28th November 2014.
