Keynote SpeechConductor and choral expert Dominic Peckham this week was welcomed as keynote speaker for the Headmasters’s and Headmistresses’ Annual Conference, held this year at the Celtic Manor resort. Dominic was featured amongst leading lights in education and educational policy makers, highlighting the importance of music, and in particular singing, in education and helped participants ‘find their voice’, the theme of this year’s conference. His address and sessions were also featured in the Independent’s article on the conference.

Dominic not only delivered the keynote address, but also led the participants of the conference in daily warm ups and directed the Head’s Choir. He masterminded the conference’s musical programme, which included performances by Only Boys Aloud, Uppingham School Choir and the Jazzberries and the conference culminated in an Eisteddfod. Other guest speakers included David Blunkett and Shami Chakrabarti.

Participants and delegates tweeted:

‘[The Heads’ Voices Choir led by Dominic Peckham] were brilliant. Next week’s number one…’

‘Fantastic start to finding our voice #HMC2014. 300 heads on their feet singing.’

‘It’s not every day you hear a hall of private school heads singing “We don’t need no education” & “Sweet dreams are made of this”‘
