This weekend the acclaimed London Bridge Trio will host the ninth Winchester Chamber Music Festival for four jam-packed days of sublime chamber music in different venues across Winchester city centre.
Taking place from Friday 29 April – Monday 2 May and led by Artistic Directors Kate Gould and Daniel Tong, the festival will feature 10 events including concerts, masterclasses and open rehearsals. The trio will be joined by a number of international guest musicians, including the Navarra Quartet, violist Douglas Paterson and the Fournier Trio.
After the success of their full-house concert at the Theatre Royal at the 2015 Festival, this year’s the festival will return for another concert in the theatre, for a special programme including Schubert’s ‘Death and the Maiden’ and one of Brahms’s incomparable String Sextets.
2016 will also see the Festival’s first family-friendly concert on Saturday morning, welcoming parents and children of any age.
The 2015 Festival received rave reviews – “Judging by Friday’s full house, the local appetite for high quality chamber music has soared… Performances like this don’t get much better” (Bachtrack).
