‘Dance the Beginning of the World’ was commissioned by the Malvern Concert Club, and builds upon Trio Apaches’ existing relationship with Sally Beamish: to great acclaim, the composer and trio have already collaborated in ‘The Seafarer’ (with Sir Willard White) and her adaption of Debussy’s ‘La Mer’. Sally is one of the foremost composers of her generation. Her music is emotionally vivid and richly coloured, displaying virtuosic command of her canvas. This commission lies deep at the heart of the Trio’s ethos, as they were founded with the shared desire to focus on innovative projects and challenging cross-genre collaborations.
