Clarinettist Michael Collins has released a new Richard Strauss disc of Concertante Works with 
Chandos Records, featuring some gems of Strauss’s orchestral repertoire:
Burleske for Piano and orchestra in D minor, AV85
Duett-Concertino for Clarinet, Bassoon & Strings, AV14
Romance for Clarinet and Orchestra, AV 61
Violin Concerto in D minor, Op. 8
Recorded at the BBC’s Maida Vale studios, Collins play-directs from the clarinet, alongside the BBC Symphony Orchestra, violinist Tasmin Little, pianist Michael McHale and bassoonist Julie Price.
Michael’s last release (Crusell Clarinet Concertos with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra) received was Gramophone’s ‘Recording of the Month’ in June 2018.
