Canterbury Cathedral Girls’ Choir joins the artist roster

We are delighted that the Canterbury Cathedral Girls’ Choir, directed by David Newsholme, has joined the artist roster at Ikon Arts – Edition Peters. Their artist page can be viewed here.

As part of the choral foundation at Canterbury Cathedral the choir sings in regular services as well as taking part in the frequent significant events at the Mother Church of the Anglican Communion. The Girls’ Choir has made its mark in the Cathedral over the last five years. The Dean of Canterbury, the Very Reverend Dr Robert Willis: “It’s been a very great thrill to have introduced into our choral foundation the element of the girls choir. They have become massive ambassadors for singing in the Cathedral.”

Carrying on the ambassadorial work of the mission of the Cathedral, the Girls’ Choir will give more concerts around the UK and abroad, performing with other choirs and with musicians. The Girls’ Choir has recorded for Decca Records, Signum Classics and BBC Music Magazine; it has featured as artist of the week on Classic FM and Apple Music, and has performed live on BBC and ITV television. Of its Carol album, AllMusic said: “There’s an X factor of sheer fun here that has accounted for the group’s success, and you should sample it for yourself.”

David Newsholme, director of the Girls’ Choir, said: “I am delighted to be collaborating with Edition Peters Artist Management, and look forward to the many exciting opportunities which this fruitful partnership will bring for the Girls’ Choir.”
