Violinist Ellinor D’Melon gave the world premiere performance of Four Seasons of the Caribbean in Leeds at the end of November with Manchester Camerata and Steel-Pan player, Leon Foster Thomas. Composers Philip Herbert, Cassie Kinoshi, Renell Shaw and Ayanna Witter-Johnson were each commissioned to write a ‘season’. The result is a unique blend of sounds, both traditional and modern, featuring violin, steel-pan soloists.

“Manchester Camerata give a scintillating performance of the Vivaldi, energetically led by the solo violinist who displays equal measures of passion, expertise and enjoyment…Then the modern work just adds to the excitement with its own unique rhythms and glorious harmonies.”
