The other works on this disc are Symphony No. 2 and Concerto For Large Symphony Orchestra, released on Chandos last month.“Peter Donohoe relishes the tensile interplay of an initial Allegro evoking Bartók and finds real plangency in the Andante with its variations on a folk song. Closer to Szymanowski, the final Allegro is driven home with all the requisite panache.”

The album is the follow up to the recordings of Bacewicz’s 3rd and 4th Symphonies released by the BBC Symphony and Oramo in December 2023.
