Catch Manami Suzuki as she performs her London debut at Kings Place on 23rd January. The multi-award-winning Japanese pianist in 2024, at just 22 years old, made history as the first Japanese pianist and the first female pianist to win the prestigious Hamamatsu International Piano Competition in Japan, alongside the Chamber Music Award and Audience Prize.
Before the concert, piano experts and enthusiasts Alistair McGowan, Sean Rafferty and Noriko Ogawa discuss ‘pianomania’ in a pre-concert talk. Noriko will share her insights into the city of Hamamatsu from where pianomania radiates from the factories, museum, concert hall and competition – which reminds us that there is not just one way for pianists to have a career. Alistair shares his perspective on his route back to the piano and how releasing the Piano Album in 2017 led him to found the Ludlow Piano Festival.
