Ex Cathedra and acclaimed soprano Carolyn Sampson have won the Gramophone Award Recital Category 2015 for their latest album, A French Baroque Diva.
The disc, released with Hyperion Records, showcases the repertoire of the popular French Baroque soprano, Marie Fel. It brings to life music by composers including Michel-Richard de Lalande, Louis Lacoste, Jean-Joseph Mouret and Jean-Philippe Rameau.
The winners of the prestigious award have been announced ahead of the ceremony on 17th September, where the Recording of the Year will be announced.
Ex Cathedra will perform next in London’s Milton Court on 27 September and then in Birmingham’s Symphony Hall on 11 October.
